Snow, Wind, Arctic Air Headed to Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the KQ2 viewing area, effective 3 p.m. Saturday and continuing through 9 a.m. Sunday.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the KQ2 viewing area, effective 3 p.m. Saturday and continuing through 9 a.m. Sunday.

Snow is expected to begin falling this afternoon. The heaviest snow is likely to fall between 6 p.m. and midnight tonight.

The immediate St. Joseph are should see close to 2 inches of snow by sunrise Sunday morning.

Wind and cold temperatures will come with the snow and will likely stick around through Tuesday morning.

Northerly winds Saturday night will create wind chills as low as -8. Wind gusts could reach over 25 miler per hour.

Cold temperatures will continue Sunday with wind chill values between -8 and -13.

Wind combined with the snow could create visibility issues tonight and cause drifting snow.
