Dr. W.A. Hedge announced his intentions to run on the Democratic ticket for the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Dr. W.A. Hedge announced his intentions to run on the Democratic ticket for the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Hedge, a retired Central High School administrator and teacher, is running for Missouri's 6th Congressional District.

He announced his intentions in front of family and supporters at the East Hills Library.

Hedge outlined his campaign goals and discussed some of the platforms that he is running on.

A key demographic that Hedge is trying to reach is women.

"If you look at the last election, just simple numbers, women turned out to vote," Hedge said.

Hedge ran for the same position in 2012, but lost in the Democratic Primary.

He will begin traveling throughout the district to start campaigning soon.
