(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph School District could be moving to a new school bus service.

The school board decided to reevaluate bus service about a year ago and bid out other interested companies.

Since then, the district's Transportation Committee researched and assessed 15 companies through not only price, but also quality of equipment, customer service, performance, and other factors.

On Wednesday, the committee approached the school board and recommended Apple Bus Company based in Cleveland, Mo.

"Their culture that they, their bus drivers, the relationships with principals and parents, and all of that worked into their culture is just, we're very impressed with that," said Beery Johnson, Director of Transportation for the St. Joseph School District.

Apple Bus Company was the second lowest bidder after First Student.

The St. Joseph School Board of Education still has to vote for a school bus company at the next meeting on February 13th.
