A mobile app is now available for download. The app will offer updates on everything from school closings to a building lock down.
The app automatically offers district news, but users can also sign up for alerts and push notifications from individual schools.
"This app will provide a simple way for family and community to receive school news and updates," said Dr. Jake Long, Director of Student Services, Safety and Transportation for the District. "It's an important way to stay connected, and it will allow us to get information out to the community quickly and accurately in case of emergency."
The free app is available through iTunes and the Google Play store and can be downloaded by searching for 'St. Joseph School District.'
The district will still offer alerts by phone, text or email during emergencies. The "ParentLink Alert Sign-up" is available on the district's website.
The ParentLink contract included a free app as part of the deal with the district.
