St. Joseph Transit's Nite Ride service ends Friday, October 25.
Nite Ride launched in 2008 with the help of funding from the Federal Transit Administration Job Access and Reverse Commute program. The JARC funding covered half the cost for the service, but that money was cut last fall. The funds allowed St. Joseph Transit to continue the service through Oct. 25.
Mary Gaston, St. Joseph Transit's general manager, said the service covers approximately 50 trips each weeknight, but varies from day to day. The service offered rides from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and catered to those working second and third shift jobs.
Riders can learn more about the changes in service by calling the St. Joseph Transit office at 233-6700 or online.
