(JOPLIN, Mo.) The Mustangs came back from a quiet offensive outing Sunday night in a big way.
St. Joseph (18-8 MINK) pounded out 20 hits on its way to a 16-3 win over Joplin.
The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead into the third inning when they broke the game open. After St. Joe loaded the bases with one out, first baseman Mark Robinette cleared them with a double. Three batters later Shane Segovia singled home two more runs increasing the Mustangs lead to 6-0.
St. Joe scored its final ten runs in four of the last five innings of the game.
Mark Robinette led the charge going 4-6 with two doubles and four RBI.
Four more Mustangs finished the game with three hits.
Stanton Jones recorded his second win throwing five innings allowing three earned runs.
The Mustangs return home Tuesday for a game against the US Military All-Stars.
