Troopers Report Zero Fatalities during Holiday Counting Period

The holiday counting period ran from 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1.
(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) New Year's Eve brought fewer fatalities as Missourians rang in the new year.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports zero fatalities for the holiday counting period which ran from 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 1.

Twelve fatalities were reported during the longer holiday counting period a year earlier.

Troopers responded to 116 traffic crashes with 42 injuries. They also arrested 47 drivers for DWI.
