(Troy, KS)--Troy Running Back Dillon Simpson's never had the same football coach two years in a row. He won't for his senior season either. In 2011, Troy native Ron Shelton takes over as the program's fourth head coach in four seasons.
That's hard to believe, considering the tradition of Troy. The blue and white were once a Kansas 2A state power, reeling off eight-straight playoff appearances in the mid-2000's.
The success of the team is is crucial to Shelton and the community. The program's seen a continuing trend of declining roster numbers, but is returning several key seniors that should help restore pride in Trojan Country.
Troy opens the season on at ACCHS on Sept. 2nd. They'll play four of their first five games on the road.
