The trucker charged in the death of Kecia King, 46, of St. Joseph will be transported back to St. Joseph soon.

Kent Harris waived his extradition hearing this morning in Broward County, Florida.

A spokeswoman with the Broward County State Attorney's office said Harris is ready for transport back to Missouri to face the charge of involuntary manslaughter. She said the exact date for that has not been determined yet.

Harris is accused in the death of King, who died earlier this month from head injuries.

Court documents allege those injuries came at the hands of Harris who met up with King earlier that night at a St. Joseph bar.

King was found on the side of I-29 near Pickett Road. She died of her injuries the next day. The probable cause statement stated that King's injuries were consistent with being thrown from a moving vehicle.

Harris, of Greenville, Mississippi, was later arrested in Florida.

His bond was set at $100,000.
