Two Teens Charged in Platte County Student's Death

Deputies say they responded to a home on Friday after the teen took a substance known as "acid."
(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) Two northwest Missouri teens are charged in the death of a classmate after he died from taking an imitation controlled substance.

The Platte County teenager died over the weekend.

Deputies say they responded to a home on Friday after the teen took a substance known as "acid."

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Deputies arrested 17-year-old Krista Meeks and 18-year-old Jamell Montgomery.

They're now charged with distributing the substance.

The victim was a student at Park Hill High School.

His name has not been released.
