Victims of Fatal I-29 Crash Identified

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 29 Saturday.
(PLATTE COUNTY, Mo.) The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 29 Saturday.

A crash report released by the highway patrol states Robert Richardson, 51, of Kansas City, Kan., and Crystal Harris, 35, also of Kansas City, Kan., died after the 1997 Volvo truck Richardson was driving drove through a guardrail and bridge abutment and into Bee Creek.

The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday on northbound I-29, just south of the Z Highway/Dearborn exit.

According to the crash report, Richardson lost control of the truck for an unknown reason and swerved to the left before crashing through the guardrail.

Both Richardson and Harris were pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. Both were wearing seat belts.

It was the 32nd fatality accident this year for Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
