Warm Trend Hits End of the Road

Warm air heads east while a blast of arctic air pushes down from the northwest.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The warm trend that has continued over the last few days hits the end of the road as arctic air pushes in overnight Saturday bringing a very cold Sunday.

There is a chance of a wintry mix in the very early morning hours Sunday, but don't look for any accumulation. Beyond that, expect to wake up to temperatures in the teens with wind chills below zero and into the single digits Sunday. The wind out of the northwest is expected to be strong at times, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

Sunday night doesn't get any better, with a low of 3 degrees after temperatures drop from a high in the low-teens.

Cold days will stick around through the week with temperatures likely staying sub-30 until Friday.
