KQ2's Christina Watkins was stranded at Midway Airport in Chicago most of the day. And, she certainly wasn't alone. The airport was packed with travelers due to weather delays.
There was still a layer of snow on the tarmac and passengers were told the ice on the planes also contributed to the delays.
Most found ways to pass the time. And for some frequent flyers, like David Sorge, the delay wasn't a big deal.
"I've seen worse. I travel a lot though. I travel a lot internationally. I've had a few times where there's been two or three hour delays," he said.
Sorge was also headed to Kansas City from Chicago. He entertained with a little music while travelers waited on their plane to arrive.
The wintry weather has delayed or canceled more than 8,300 flights from the Midwest to the East Coast Thursday.
