Weather Takes Turn This Evening Into Friday

It won't be long until we are reminded again what month it is, and what season we are just about to begin.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) It won't be long until we are reminded again what month it is, and what season we are just about to begin.

As a strong cold front gets closer there is a decent chance for freezing rain or freezing drizzle this evening and overnight.

And by Friday, temperatures will remain below freezing all day, enhancing the risks caused by ice on the ground.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory from 7pm this evening until 6am tomorrow.

The weekend won't be a picnic either, as another chance for freezing rain on Saturday transitions into a chance for snow that evening into Sunday morning.

Saturday is the first day of winter.

It is a little early to have the best idea on snow totals this weekend, but extremely cold temperatures are likely on Sunday and Monday.
