With Snow on the Ground, A Cold Outlook for the Next Few Days

The sleet began at 3:00pm Sunday. The snow began at 8:30pm. Now we look for snow to continue for several hours overnight.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) We knew it was coming. Snow. Sleet. Freezing rain. The inevitable traffic slide-offs.

They came.

At around 3:00pm Saturday, ice pellets started to fall and accumulate.

It took until 8:30pm for that to become snowfall - it took a little longer getting to it than originally thought.

That snow continues to fall overnight, and could easily be 5-6" of accumulation by Sunday. Even more is possible, should the snow fall more heavily.

Then, the cold will settle in. The EXTREME cold.

By early Tuesday morning, that could mean a low below zero.

This means in all likelihood we should have a "White Christmas."
