High Heat to Begin the Week

( ST. JOSEPH, MO. ) Summer heat returns this week. A heat advisory goes into effect for the entire viewing area beginning at noon on Monday and ending 7pm Tuesday. Highs today will reach the low to mid 90s on Monday. Heat index values will top out between 100-105 degrees. Winds will be blowing out of the south at 10 to 20 miles per hour and gusting up to 30. Overnight temperatures will be mild and won't bring much relief from the daytime heating. Lows will be in the mid 70s. Tuesday will be even hotter. Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s with heat index values above 105 degrees. Winds will be out of the south southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. As a reminder, the hottest part of the day will be between 3pm-7pm so try to limit time out in the sun and be sure to drink plenty of water.
