( ST. JOSEPH, MO. ) Excessive heat continues into Friday as highs climb into the mid to upper 90s. A dome of high pressure is still set in across the region and is bringing in more warm, moist air. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour this afternoon. Dew points will remain in the 70s today and make it feel like it's 100-105 degrees. Due to the high heat and humidity a heat advisory will remain in effect until 8pm Saturday evening. Clouds will stick around throughout the day, but there will still be sunshine. Scattered storm chances increase overnight as a disturbance will generate storms to the north, some of which could move through northwest Missouri. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Saturday will be as hot, if not, a few degrees hotter than Friday. Heat index values will still be the same due to dew points dropping a few degrees. Saturday will be mostly sunny with winds out of the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
