( ST. JOSEPH, MO ) After a hot day to begin the week, Tuesday will be even hotter. Temperatures will start off in the upper 70s to begin the day and will quickly rise heading into the afternoon. Highs will top out in the upper 90s under partly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the south at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Factoring in the humidity, heat index values will range from 105-110 degrees. A heat advisory will remain in effect until 7pm. Luckily this will be the last day for excessive heat as a cold front will make its way through the region Tuesday evening and overnight. The front will bring a chance for scattered thunderstorms and may even produce some isolated severe storms that could produced high winds. Temperatures will only fall down into the lower 70s overnight. Tomorrow will have plenty of sunshine, but it will be cooler. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
