( ST. JOSEPH, MO. ) Thursday will again bring sunny and dry conditions throughout the day as high pressure continues to slowly move to our east into eastern Missouri. Temperatures will start off in the mid to upper 50s, but will warm up nicely in the afternoon. Highs today will reach the mid 80s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Clouds will start to increase overnight as the next weather system moves closer to the viewing area. Temperatures will only drop to the low to mid 60s. Friday will start off dry and partly sunny. A strong low level jet will bring in warmer, moist air to the region as the first of many waves of energy moves in on Friday afternoon. This means that the afternoon will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s. There will be a better chance for storms on Friday evening and through the overnight.
