President's Day Begins with Freezing Rain Advisory

Mixed precipitation moving in has prompted a freezing rain advisory for much of the area.
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A freezing rain advisory will go into effect and continue through 9 a.m. Monday with a chance of freezing rain moving into the area.

Precipitation should begin in the early morning hours Monday, but will move through quickly. By 9 a.m. temperatures should begin warming as the precipitation moves out and the sun begins to peak through the clouds.

Rain, with a chance of freezing rain, mixed with a little snow is likely in the morning. Accumulations shouldn't be more than a trace to a tenth of an inch, possibly creating a few slick spots for morning commutes.

Once that moisture clears out, temperatures will warm to a high in the upper-40s.
